    <span style="font-size: medium;">WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senators John Thune and Tim Johnson today introduced legislation that would allow transfer ownership of nine historic cemeteries in the Black Hills from the U.S. Forest Service to local communities. Under authority granted by Thune and Johnson&rsquo;s legislation, known as Black Hills Cemetery Act (S. 447), ownership of these nine cemeteries and up to two acres of adjacent land would be transferred to the caretaking local communities that have managed them for generations under special-use permits issued by the Forest Service. This legislation passed in the House of Representatives during the last session of Congress. </span>

    <span style="font-size: medium;">PIERRE, S.D. - The House of Representatives passed a resolution asking President Barack Obama to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, but not all members were in favor. House Concurrent Resolution 1006 was approved 57-11 and recommends authorizing the pipeline. The project is expected to bring economic benefits such as job creation and tax revenue, but has been stalled for more than two years. Representative Troy Heinert spoke in opposition to the bill. Heinert says the pipeline will flow through three major water sources and have the potential to harm all lives.</span>
