If anybody is a small town South Dakota girl, it's Kris. Kris grew up in Artesian, SD (population 200). She later moved to Spearfish, SD where she graduated from High School. Kris then went on to study Mass Communications and graduated from Black Hills State University. She began her journey as "Big Momma" on KBHU, the college radio station and helped manage the college TV station, BHTV.
While in college, she worked behind the scenes at KNBN-TV and also became a t.v. reporter.
After experiencing a number of different occupations including a waitress, Dance Studio Owner/Instructor, and an Aquatics/Programs Director Kris found her way back into radio. She has been waking up early for 2 years at KAT Country and also serves as the New Rushmore Radio Public Affairs Director and heads up the Black Hills Mission Possible Group (helping non profit organizations promote their events).
Kris also have a passion for helping in the community and stays involved through groups like the United Way, Jaycees, Young Professionals Group, Humane Society, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. In what could be described as"free time," Kris enjoys walking her dog Rocky, baking, flossing, dancing, and watching people wipe out on Amercia's Funniest Home videos!
Sam Adams is a native of Rapid City, is married and has 3 children. A 26 year old son, a 21 year old daughter and a 6 year old daughter. Sam's wife is from Custer, South Dakota and is a medical assitant at Rushmore OB/GYN. He has traveled all around the world with his father who was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and then again when he himself spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Sam has been with New Rushmore Radio for ten years.
