Hello, my name is Kara McKenzie

I grew up in the Upper Midwest, spending time in ND, SD, and MN.

My University days were spent at SMSU in Marshall MN, where I volunteered to help a friend do a show on the College Radio Station. It was an experience that paved the way. My interest in Radio and TV grew.

The local radio station of KMHL-AM and KKCK-FM across from the university hired me on as overnights and weekends.

In 2005, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona wanting to finish my degree in a specified radio program. While attending the Academy of Radio and TV I board operated a morning show and did Traffic reporting on KPHX AM.

Home is where the heart is and after graduation I was hired in to the Rapid City area.

93 9 The Mix, KKMK-FM, is a reputable station I am happy to call my on-air home.
