STURGIS, S.D. - Shelby Cammack of Sturgis is one hot pistol shooter.
Cammack won the Women's 10m Air Pistol final in Colorado Springs. Cammack came from behind to get the win -- entering the final round six points back of Kylie Gagnon of Bozeman, Montana. Cammack shot an outstanding 96.7 points in the final to tie Gagnon with 827.7 points. With a sudden-death shoot-off, Cammack clinched the victory with a 9.6 point shot to Gagnon's 8.2 point shot. Gagnon finished with the silver medal and Cammack was awarded a USA Shooting Team jacket and named to the National Junior Team.
Shelby, along with twin sister Paige will also compete in the women's sport pistol event on Saturday. They are the daughters of Randy and Mary Ellen Cammack, of rural Sturgis.
A Rapid City shooter, Marshall Matters, took the silver medal in the Mens 10m Air Pistol Championship. Matters was also named to the National Junior Team.
