RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Rapid City Police Department says after arresting a Rapid City teen caught burglarizing a vehicle, they're working to find out if a string of car burglaries on Monday are related.
Police say at least 9 different vehicles were reported broken into between 8 o'clock Monday morning and 5:30 Tuesday morning.Witnesses reported seeing two subjects entering vehicles, and the P.D. says 19–year–old Michael Henderson was caught inside one of the cars along Maple Avenue. He was arrested for criminal entry to a motor vehicle and an outstanding warrant for no proof of insurance.
Loose change, along with a variety of other items were reported stolen from the other vehicles.
The Rapid City Police Department is encouraging everybody to make sure parked cars are locked with no valuables inside.
The burglaries are still under investigation.
