RAPID CITY, S.D. - Rapid City Central took home court advantage to the fullest, and won the Region 4 Wrestling Tournament Saturday.
Close behind was their rival, Sturgis, with 200 points. Central finished with 202 points and Stevens was third.
Sturgis will be sending 13 wrestlers to the state tournament next week in Aberdeen. Central will send the same amount.
The Scoopers crowned five champions Saturday; Brody Jorenson at 106, Tanner Bothwell at 120, Morgan Engbrecht at 126, Nick Montieth at 138 and Clay Kopplin at 160.
Meanwhile, at the region 4B tournament, Phillip took first place in the team standings with 155.5 points. The next closest was Bennett County with 87.5 points.
The Scotties will send 10 wrestlers to the State B Tournament next weekend in Rapid City.
Philip had a pair of champions in Nick Donnelly at 106 pounds and Lane Blassius at 132.
