SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team will be hosting the NCAA Transitional Tournament sponsored by Holiday Inn and Lucky's 13 on March 1-3 at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish. Black Hills State, S.D. Mines, Sioux Falls, Minot State, and Lindenwood will all compete in the three day tournament.
"This is a great opportunity to host a tournament for the teams like us that are transitioning to NCAA Division II," said Head Coach Bradd Schafer. "I would like to thank the Holiday Inn and Lucky's 13 for sponsoring this tournament. This provides our team a chance to compete against some great competition."
The tournament will run Thursday, March 1 through Saturday, March 3 with game times on March 1 and 2 at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and March 3 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The championship game will be played at 3:00 p.m. on Sautday. The Yellow Jackets will play their first game of the tournament at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2.
Single day general admission tickets will be $12 for adults, $5 for youth and senior tickets, or you can purchase a tournament pass for $30 which includes admission to all six tournament games and access to the VIP room.
The Yellow Jackets will play their final regular season games on the road on as they travel to California to square off against Chapman on February 23 at 6:00 p.m. PT and Cal State-San Marcos on February 25 at 5:00 p.m. PT.
