Marian Larsen

Marian A. Larsen, 96, Sturgis, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center.
Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Pastor Willard Olsen officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Radio Broadcast at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis.
Marian was born June 22, 1915 at Badger, SD, to Claude and Lulu (Andersen) Phinney. Marian was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, SD.
She married Omer V. Larsen on September 3, 1939 at Badger, SD.
In 1957 the family moved to Sturgis where she spent the rest of her life. She worked as a receptionist for State Farm Insurance and also for Dr. Hines and Dr. Watson. She was a church organist in Badger prior to moving to Sturgis and continued as the church organist at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis for many years.
Survivors include her son Mike (Dixie) Larsen, Sturgis; daughter, Nancy (Bill) Hlavka, Cave Creek, AZ; three grandchildren, Shaun Larsen, John Hlavka and Cory Underhill; also six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Omer and grandson, Scott Larsen.
Marian donated her body for medical research and a private burial will be held at a later date.
